4 April 2020 - Timmy's Photo Bomb

For my final year project at Huddersfield University I’m photographing food banks. Well, I was but we were now well into lockdown due to the Coronavirus Covid 19 that appears to have brought the world to a standstill. So, with no access to my primary locations, I’ve had to rethink my approach.

I’m now focussing on some of the products that people can obtain during their visits to the food bank. However, some products are impossible to get anywhere. The stores just don’t have much in stock anymore.

I chose to photograph a bottle of hand wash or at least the remains of the bottle. Hand wash is a product in very short supply. I wanted to feature a sink environment so as to be in keeping with the product and I chose the kitchen sink because the draining board presented with some nice diagonal lines.

The image was shaping up and met my needs then, without warning, Timmy the cat chose to photobomb the image. Fortunately he became bored of stardom and decided to leave the scene a few frames later.
