Today’s the day, Gavin Prest’s webinar hosted by the Guild of Photographers. It has been scheduled for 2:00 pm and is set to be well attended.

Hornsea based Gavin has built up a world-wide reputation for his imagery. Predominantly working in black and white he is famous for his deep, velvety images featuring scenes that often ask more questions than they answer. Today Gavin will talk about his processing techniques using Adobe Photoshop.

Unfortunately the webinar was plagued by IT issues towards the end. However, Gavin demonstrated his Photoshop workflow to show how he fine tunes the light and brings attention to the key areas of the image. Although much of his work is in black and white, he also produces excellent colour work that benefits greatly from his vision. Much of his photography is produced in his home town of Hornsea, this allows him access to dramatic locations including the beach, the promenade and Hornsea Mere.
